Education
Education
To us, education is an investment in the individual. When we sponsor a children in Uganda we make a long-term commitment to thei schooling. The impact on their life is profound and lasting. Society may destine her/his to a life of poverty, but Bible readings teach them about their identity in Christ. As they discovers their unique interests and talents, they finds the confidence to dream.
Instead of a future as an illiterate, unskilled worker, they hopes for a profession as a nurse. Our investment in their education permanently increases their spiritual, moral, and economic well being. The same is true of all our educational programs.
SHALEM CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
PRO-grace gives children the attention and care they need. Our Bible-based curriculum helps students grow in knowledge and character. Students attend public school. But before and after school, they live and study at our PRO-grace Centers, where they receive nutritious meals and medical check-ups each semester. We provide each student with a uniform and school supplies. And they participate in our after school sports and church activities.
Because of PRO-grace, students know that their needs matter—to us and their Heavenly Father.
Full tuition costs $160/month. Four sponsors make this possible for one child at $40/month each. One sponsor may contribute more than one-fourth of the total sponsorship (e.g. one sponsor at $80/month).

The children in our PRO-grace Children Program have experienced unimaginable trauma. The wars in South Sudan forced them to flee their home. Most of their loved ones have died, so many have become orphans. Now, they live alongside 58,000 African refugees in Uganda’s Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement. As strangers in a foreign land, the children struggle to understand their identity. They long to find purpose in their lives. Their caregivers—many, widows—feel trapped by their circumstances
Their skill-set does not earn them a proper wage. Without capital, the goods they make cannot compete in the local market. School fees—the meager cost of books, pencils, and a uniform—keep them from sending the children to school.
Our PRO-grace Children Program helps these children find their purpose. With the help of our partner, Pastor Bagonza Robert, we hold Sunday school classes for over 160 child refugees in the settlement. Of these, we identify the neediest orphans and pay for their schooling. Five days a week, they take Christian Religious Education (CRE), life skills, and core subjects at a school in the area.
On weekends, they participate in Pastor Bagonza’s ministry Called Willow Creek Community Ministries.
Because of our PRO-grace Children sponsors, we have invested in the education of 130 children. Through the Gospel, we teach them to live with purpose.
